Reason for Stranding

Stuck in the rocks at Boca Chica jetties beach side

Patient History

4.3 lb non-FP juvenile green

Update: 6/1
– Current weight – 4.9 lbs
– Receiving medication, debridement and cold laser therapy every 3 days
– Moderate wounds are healing well and turtle is eating very well. Fecal positive for Caryopsora, will start on oral medication

Patient Injuries

severe plastron abrasions, flipper abrasions, foreign material sticking out of cloaca, able to successfully remove, small amount of tar-like substance on carapace

Patient Treatments

started on Ceftazidime, Vit B Complex & fluids, meloxicam, took 3-view radiographs, dry-docked overnight and will place in shallow freshwater this morning
