Full Time Positions

Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator

Location: Sea Turtle, Inc. South Padre Island, TX

The opportunity is here to join Sea Turtle Inc, one of the most recognized Sea Turtle rehabilitation, conservation and education facilities in the world!

Sea Turtle, Inc. is hiring a full-time Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator to help manage our large volunteer base and coordinate and facilitate educational outreach events within the local community and surrounding Rio Grande Valley. This position is responsible for recruiting, coordinating, training, and supervising volunteers.  It will also be responsible for scheduling, managing, and delivering educational outreach events within the community and assisting with onsite educational programs.  The desired candidate should be positive, able to work independently and in a team setting, and versatile in their educational program delivery.

 This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Director of Animal Care

Location: Sea Turtle, Inc. South Padre Island, TX

The opportunity is here to join Sea Turtle Inc, one of the most recognized Sea Turtle rehabilitation, conservation and education facilities in the world!

Sea Turtle, Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Animal Care. Reporting to the Veterinarian and Chief Conservation Officer, the Director of Animal Care will be responsible for all aspects of animal health and care. We are building a brand new hospital, clinic, and research facility, and this position will be a central part of this process. The ideal candidate is flexible, a team player with the ability to work independently as needed, and passionate about our mission of rehabilitation, education, and conservation.

Jeffrey George Internship Program

Seasonal Position - 2022 Positions Filled

Description: Sea Turtle, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a three-part mission of public education, sea turtle rehabilitation, and conservation. The internship program runs from Mid March – to August. Applications open in October and are focused on Education, Rehabilitation and Conservation. 

Applicants must be college graduates in education, biological science, wildlife and fisheries science, environmental science, or other related fields. U.S. citizenship or a permit to work in the U.S. is required. In addition, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass a criminal background check. Finally, interns must be comfortable working in adverse weather conditions.

Shared housing is provided on South Padre Island, Texas, with a $35 per workday stipend. Accommodation is air-conditioned and equipped with basic furniture, Wi-Fi, and kitchen supplies. Please note, pets are not allowed in housing. Food and transportation are not provided. A personal vehicle is not required on the island.
