Stuck in the rocks at the jetties
Patient History
Sea Turtle, Inc. intern Paulina found Buddy stuck in the rocks at the Boca Chica jetties. Green sea turtles forage on the seagrasses and algae growing along the rocks and can become stuck when the tide recedes.
March 2020- *continuing to get the same treatment as last month* No longer receiving any injectable medications. Buddy still has some abrasions on his/her shell so twice a week Buddy receives cold laser therapy (to promote wound healing), debridement (gently cleaning of the wounds), and topical medications such as Silver Sulfadiazine cream or honey.
Feb 2020- No longer receiving any injectable medications. Buddy still has some abrasions on his/her shell so twice a week Buddy receives cold laser therapy (to promote wound healing), debridement (gently cleaning of the wounds), and topical medications such as Silver Sulfadiazine cream or honey.
Jan 2020- Buddy is doing great! Eating well as has good energy.

Buddy has minor scrapes on his shell but otherwise, no major injuries.
