Reason for Stranding

Found entangled in fishing line with fishing line attached to bottom of seafloor, floating at the Isla Blanca jetties beach side (turtle was able to dive but was struggling to surface for breaths)

Patient History

29.4 lb non-FP juvenile green

Patient Injuries

Severe entanglement, swallowed braided fishing line coming out of both sides of the mouth and also wrapped around both front flippers, monofilament line found entangled around LFF and had to be cut in the water to free turtle, severe wounds and swelling to both front flippers but appears to have use of both

Patient Treatments

In-house PCV = 24%, TP = 2.0 g/dl, glucose = 79, started on Ceftazidime, Vit B Complex, Vit C, Meloxicam, Normosol
