Stuck at the rocks at the Jetties

Patient History

-found stuck in the Boca Chica jetties by conservation staff on patrol

Patient Injuries

mild plastron abrasions, mild carapace abrasions (few small areas of exposed bone), and had a pimple on the ventral neck – cleaned with Chlorhex and used a scalpel to open up – contained caseous material

Patient Treatments

– in-house blood work all within normal limits -started on Ceftazidime (antibiotic), Vit B (for appetite/energy) & fluids -took a complete set of x-rays -very active so placed in a shallow freshwater isolation tank – swimming well!
