Cowboy's Patient History

Meet Cowboy, a resilient Atlantic Green Sea Turtle who proves that a little hardship can’t keep a good swimmer down. Despite missing his front right flipper, Cowboy navigates the water with incredible grace and determination. His journey to finding a forever home at Sea Turtle Inc. was quite the mystery. He stranded himself on the beach 4 separate times in just over a year, yet every medical test showed he was perfectly healthy! Because he kept returning to the shore, the team officially welcomed him as a permanent resident in September 2022 to ensure he stayed safe. You might also find it charming that for years, we called him “Cowgirl.” It’s incredibly difficult to tell a young turtle’s gender, and it wasn’t until he grew older and we were able to run a test on him, that everyone realized he was actually a boy. Cowboy’s unique quirks and enduring spirit make him a truly special member of the family.

Favorite Foods

Cowboy is not a picky eater! Loves all food! This includes fish, shrimp, lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber, and zucchini!

Ways to help Cowboy's Recovery

Adopt Cowboy

One of the three primary missions at Sea Turtle, Inc. is rehabilitation. We work hard to rescue and return every sea turtle back to the wild. Proceeds from this adoption will go directly to purchase needed medical supplies, veterinary exams, x-rays, food and general care for our rehab turtles.

Support Us
