Hang 10 washed ashore on July 11, 2009 as a hatchling. Due to birth defects that affect her flipper, shell, and eye, she is unable to be released and is a permanent resident at our facility. When she was smaller, she traveled to local events and schools to educate the public. Now she is 10 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She is too big to travel, but don’t worry, Hang 10 is still doing the job of educating! You can find Hang 10 happily eating shrimp on any given day at our facility.

Mama's Patient History
Mama first found us when she arrived at our old hospital, heavily pregnant and in need of a safe place. We brought her to our friends at Friends of Animal Rescue, where she safely gave birth to her litter of kittens. Once her babies were grown and off to their forever homes, we knew we couldn’t let Mama go. We officially adopted her as our resident cat!
At first, Mama preferred the outdoor life. However, after routine care revealed she had FIV and breast cancer, we transitioned her into a full-time indoor kitty to keep her safe, healthy, and comfortable.
To everyone’s delight, Mama absolutely loves the indoor life! She now spends her days soaking up warm sunbeams, gazing out the window, and receiving lots of love (and regular checkups) from her family at Sea Turtle Inc.

Ways to help Mama's Recovery
Adopt Mama
One of the three primary missions at Sea Turtle, Inc. is rehabilitation. We work hard to rescue and return every sea turtle back to the wild. Proceeds from this adoption will go directly to purchase needed medical supplies, veterinary exams, x-rays, food and general care for our rehab turtles.
