Reason for Stranding

Hooked by a fisherman on the Isla Blanca Jetties in the right front flipper

Patient History

Atlantic Green 3.1 KG

Patient Injuries

Mouth/Beak: Clear
External Carapace Notes: No lesions just 3 barnacles
Plastron: urchin spines
External Wounds: Hook wound to the underside of the Right front flipper. Used a scalpel to slice the skin to access the hook barb to cut the hook and remove it.
Head/Flippers/Soft Tissue: Hook wound and one small scrape to the right shoulder, a few very small abrasions to the plastron.

Patient Treatments

In House Bloods:PCV: 28 %, TS: 4.0 , Glucose: 99, meds administered: Standard protocol (Ceftaz, VitB & Normosol) + Lidocaine for hook removal.
