Reason for Stranding

Hooked by a fisherman in the mouth at the Isla Blanca Jetties on the channel side.

Patient History

1.90 kg juvenile Atlantic Green sea turtle

Patient Injuries

Mouth/Beak: Circle Hook in the soft palate/roof of mouth on the right side
Plastron: Minor abrasions and bruising, a few urchin spines

Patient Treatments

In House PCV: 39%, TS: 3.8 , Glucose: 89 Meds administered: Ceftaz (antibiotic) , VitB (appetite stimulant), keto (pain medication) & Normosol
