Stranded 7/2/2010 Alexis is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley who was found at County Beach Access 5 right after Hurricane Alex hit South Padre Island. She is missing her front left flipper from a predator attack. Alexis will be released in Summer of 2013. Released 6/26/2013
Stranded 9/24/2010 Amigo is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. He was found washed on shore, shortly after tropical storm Hermine. He is missing his right front flipper, possibly from a predator attack. Amigo will be released in Summer of 2013. Released 11/4/2013
Stranded 7/17/2010 Dennis is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle who stranded with small injuries on his shell, possibly from predation. He was moved out of ICU in May of 2012 and will be released in Summer 2013. Released 8/23/2013
Stranded 7/12/2010 Kate is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. She was found at the Coast Guard Station a few days after Hurricane Alex in 2010. Her physical injuries are minor and she is missing a small chunk of her back right flipper. Kate will be released in Summer of 2013. Released 6/26/2013
Stranded 7/3/2010 Mona is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. She stranded right after Hurricane Alex in 2010. Mona is missing 3/4 of her front left flipper. Despite this injury, she is a very spunky sea turtle. She is well-known by the staff for being “the fiesty one” and she always puts up a strong
Stranded 7/1//2010 Paloma is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. She stranded after Hurricane Alex hit South Padre Island in 2010. She is missing a small chunk of her left front flipper and a small chunk of her shell on the right side. Paloma is recovering very well and will go back to the wild
Stranded 7/11/2010 Santi is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. He stranded with an eye injury. The injury has healed and he seems to be able to see out of the eye despite the injury. He will be released in summer of 2013.
Stranded 7/9/2010 Spikey is a post-hatchling Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. He stranded with small chunks missing from all of his flippers, most likely he was attacked by a predator. Spikey recovered very quickly and is now currently swimming in a larger tank. His favorite hobbies are biting at his tank filter and chasing the thermometer
